Balcones Cup 2017

The third playing of the tournament, played at the heralded Pine Dunes Resort & Golf Club, was a year of firsts at the Balcones Cup. It was the first year of the modern Balcones format, seeing the tournament adopt the single-point scoring system where each match is valued at one point, allowing for 24 total points available. Additionally, the field grew to its now current size of 24 players and included the incorporation of Assistant Captains for each team. These Assistant Captains go on to head their respective teams the following year. And finally, in its third year, the 2017 Balcones Cup experienced Team Trinity finally overcome Team Brazos for its first-ever Cup victory by a narrow 1-point margin.
